I can't share my dining experience, only my reservation! Canceling a reservation two hours before a meal via text message is extremely rude. Apparently, basic courtesy wasn't a priority. The message contained no apology, not even a greeting...

We received a fantastic welcome despite our party of 26. The food was delicious, and we were all served together. The owners were incredibly kind and wonderful. Highly recommended! The welcome, the service, and the quality of the food were all outstanding.

We chose La Vie France almost by chance, as most other restaurants were closed on a Monday evening. Arriving from the outside—next to a large parking lot and a gym—we honestly had low expectations. But as soon as you step inside, you immediately understand how deceptive a first impression can be. We were greeted by an exceptionally attentive, kind, and warm waitress who instantly made us feel at home. The table setting, like the decor, is meticulous and tastefully designed, creating a truly pleasant atmosphere. Seeing our interest in wine, she guided us to the various bottles, engaging with us openly, sincerely, and passionately in discussing the wine pairings. The value for money is remarkable, and we followed her recommendations without the slightest disappointment. The open kitchen, visible through a large bay window, allows you to observe the chef's professionalism and precision in preparing the dishes—a real plus that inspires confidence. From the aperitif to the main course, and even dessert, everything was a delightful surprise. The menu was almost unbeatable for the quality offered: exceptionally tender meat, flavorful dishes, always served with a smile, warm homemade bread brought with care, and truly impeccable service. A real gem, unexpected and one I wholeheartedly recommend!

I had lunch with a friend this week. I knew this restaurant, but she didn't. She was delighted; the meal was very tasty, as delicious as it was beautifully presented! The staff were very friendly and professional—a special mention to the young apprentice! We will definitely be back.

I'm quite taken aback by the scathing reviews this restaurant has received! Are they out of their minds or something? The sign on the door says "Alsatian forty-days a week," and it's all sauerkraut... we weren't too keen, but we went in anyway. The setting is pleasant, spacious, and quiet. We had a duck and Munster cheese tart, sauerkraut with pan-seared foie gras, poached chicken, duck confit, sausage, horseradish sauce, and to finish, French toast with beer cream. It was incredibly good, original... and very generous. €32 for a starter/main course/dessert is justified. A young, somewhat inexperienced waiter, so what? The owner is very professional and very friendly. They don't just offer wines by the glass; you can choose your own bottles. There's a selection of three whites and three local reds, all very well chosen and at very reasonable prices. Served at the perfect temperature in pretty glasses. All the hallmarks of bistronomy are met; I absolutely loved this establishment.

It doesn't look like much from the outside... but everything happens around and on the plate!

I left a positive review two years ago, which I stand by. And I stand by it again: it's delicious, the restaurant is nice, and the wine is perfect.

There are places that, even before a single plate has been served, already foreshadow the outcome of the meal. Here, it all began with a phone call where the simple attempt to make a reservation seemed to be received as a nuisance. Fine. We persisted. Upon our arrival, the welcome was… how shall I put it… instructive. “Are you with a child? You should have mentioned that.” A remark whose tact rivals the subtlety of a school cafeteria plate. Then came the meal. The butcher's cut, presented as generous, turned out to be a mere shadow of its former self: barely a bite of meat, which we then had to carefully navigate around to avoid the sinews running through it. The XXL croque monsieur, for its part, warrants a lexical reflection: here, XXL seems to mean miniature, probably for miniature diners. One might have hoped that the desserts would redeem the whole experience. Alas, they did not. The pistachio flan only hints at pistachio, and the mille-feuille merely bears the name, without honoring its delicate layering. In short, a meal that didn't nourish the palate, but at least had the elegance to remind us of an essential truth: it's often at home, far from artifice, that we eat with the most sincerity. This restaurant, therefore, has one merit, in its own way: it makes you want to go home and cook.
