The captain has a charmingly loud personality and the food is fantastic! We had the burger and the lamb chops, both cooked to perfection! 👌🏼 Highly recommended! 😁

Exceptional restaurant

A lovely little restaurant off the beaten track that is definitely a locals spot. Really friendly staff (I think husband and wife..??) and really good value, authentic French food. Don’t be put off by the appearance from the outside, it is worth going in

It might seem a bit intimidating at first, but once you talk to the owners, you immediately feel the family atmosphere. The servers are really friendly, and the appetizers and main courses are so generous that we didn't even order dessert. The prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation.

If you have ever wondered what it would feel like to accidentally walk onto the set of a low budget Pirates of the Caribbean knock off, this is your chance. You are greeted at the entrance by a sun bleached movie poster of Captain Jack Sparrow which I can only assume has been there since the film’s original release. The terrace? Half of it is a charming storage area for random crates and mystery objects. Inside, the bar follows the same design philosophy: “Let’s put everything we don’t use in plain sight.” The kitchen features an impressive collection of pitch black pans, presumably seasoned with the ghosts of meals past. The chef, who genuinely looks like a pirate, completes the immersive experience. A few guests looked like regulars, the type who seem to have just stepped out for a smoke from the bar next door. We took one look around, then quietly slipped out the back. All in all, it is less restaurant and more abandoned shipwreck with catering equipment. Not exactly what I had in mind for dinner.

Having arrived in Carnon (near Montpellier), we stayed in an Airbnb right next to this unassuming restaurant, which is well worth a visit because the food is excellent. The owners and their large dog gave us a warm welcome! (Lunch on July 3rd)
